Let Loose in Lockdown Showcase
Now we have a clearer indication as to when we will be able to meet indoors, we can finally plan our Virtual Showcase!
Our second virtual showcase, Let Loose in Lockdown will be filmed in the first week of May 2021!
This showcase will be filmed at the Studio in Hyde and will be available to watch at a later date.
This gives us a fantastic opportunity to be very secretive with our own choreography; no one will have seen them before the screening night, which will be a lovely surprise to everyone, you can be as creative as you like!
We are open to both own choreography and class choreography for this showcase.
A Few Things To Note
As we are performing in the studio, and to ensure we are following Covid-19 restrictions, please keep in mind there will be no stage kittens available to help with your routine.
To make it more likely that we will be able to film the showcase, these will be limited to ONE PERSON PERFORMING AT A TIME FOR OWN CHOREOGRAPHY.
To make you aware, the ceiling at the new studio is much lower than the stage, so items such as large feather fans or silk fans may not work on this occasion.
There is no charge for performing in this virtual showcase.
We are hoping to film our show across the week starting 3 May. This will be weekday evenings and Sunday. We will be in touch to confirm your availability.
You will be allocated a 30 minute timeslot for your performance. This includes time to change/pack up, set the stage as needed and perform your routine.
Depending on the setup, you may be able to perform your routine several times, so that it can be filmed from different angles before editing together afterwards.
The studio will be dressed and lit as if performing in a showcase, and will be filmed by Sir Velvet Dipp.
What to bring
Please arrive with your hair and makeup done ready for performing.
Please bring your costume with you, so you can get changed at the studio.
When you arrive
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your allocated timeslot.
Please wait outside when you arrive for your timeslot.
Kimmie will come down and let you in when the previous performers have left.
After your timeslot
Once your routine has been filmed, you will have time to change and collect your things before the next performer(s) come into the studio.
There will not be any formal rehearsals/feedback forum for this showcase.
If you would like to book private time for your own rehearsals before showcase filming, please contact Kimmie.
We will still be performing our choreography learnt in online classes, but in a different way. Depending on the guidance available at the time this may be on your own or in groups (maximum of 4 people). We will then splice together different sections of the routine (similar to a music video), so that everyone is featured in the video.
Once the videos have all been filmed, and edited, we will host a virtual (or, depending on covid restrictions, physical) screening night for you to watch the showcase.
This will be free for all performers or £3 per person for friends and family to watch.
